Kitewheel July 2019 Release Notes

This Kitewheel Customer Journey Hub release has some exciting new features, upgrades, and bug fixes.

The highlights include:

  • Simplified global and project navigation to enable easy way finding
  • Moved Project Settings from Admin view to Projects
  • New persistent item list tab in Graphs and Journeys

New Navigation Features

Kitewheel has upgraded the global and project navigation to support easier way finding in the product. The majority of settings, such as version creation, connection and deployments for a project can now be found in the project settings tab inside thep project itself. This reduces the amount of navigation that is required to get the most common operations done within Kitewheel. The changes are summarised in the sections below.

Global Navigation

When you login to Kitewheel the list of projects are shown as tiles. The initial top level navigation is explained in the screenshot below:

  1. Global Return Home - always visible and always returns to the home page
  2. Your Organisation Name
  3. The Admin page for functionality that is not in the Project Settings tab

Simplified Project Navigation

Within the project itself the Global Return Home (1) and the green back arrow (2) do the same thing and return to the home page.

The Project home page shows the key areas of interest in the project:

Navigation between the tabs is easy - just by clicking on the tab name - and all of the project information is in one place. The browser back button is also respected to move between the tabs in the project window and all other windows in Kitewheel.

Project Settings

The Project Settings tab contains all of the useful administrative elements for the project. These include sub-tabs for the following functions:

Graph Editor Persistent Tab

The Kitewheel Graphs and Journeys project components now have a persistent tab that always shows the contents of the project irrespective of other tabs that are open. This replaces the "hamburger" menu that was there before - this has now been replaced with a "club sandwich". The previous features of "Sharing" graphs by creating templates or managed graphs has been moved from that menu to the right hand of the persistent view of the project in the Graphs tab.

A new shortcut has been added to make it easier to add new items to the project. The left and right arrows  make it very easy to switch between tabs when you have a lot of Graph Editor windows open.

Moment Timezone Library

The Moment timezone library was added to the standard set fo JavaScript Node libraries. This can be used to aid with timezone calculations.

Bug Fixes

The following bug fixes are included in this release:

  • [KIT-1152] - Security Low: Clickjacking X-Frame-Options missing
  • [KIT-1842] - Global navigation consistency
