Version Compare

Xponent provides users the ability to select and compare any two versions in a project. Version compare gives users a high-level snapshot of the various elements that have been created, edited or removed between two compared versions. This allows you, the configurer, to gain an understanding of what has changed between two selected versions in order to be confident in your next deployment.

Select Versions

To select versions to compare, go to the Versions tab under Project Settings:

You will see the Compare button next to each of the versions, including Current. Clicking on the Compare button will make the version become Selected. Once two versions have been selected for comparison, you will see the Compare Versions button will be enabled at the top of the page.

The version comparison pop-up will show the differences between the two versions in the following categories:

  • Journey Maps

  • Journey Steps

  • Metrics

  • Deployable Graphs

  • Graphs

  • Adaptors

  • Logic

  • Learning

  • Environments & Connections

  • Other

    • Other is where Schema and Profile Metadata is stored. As a side note, Schema references both Profile and Schema locations within a graph whereas Profile Metadata is referencing where Interactions and Identifiers are created and managed.

By default, all the above elements will appear and you will be able to then filter by: Created, Edited, or Removed. There is also a “Show Unedited” button - this allows you to see what hasn’t changed between the two versions

Xponent also allows you to search within the list based on item name within the categories to easily find the element you are looking for. You can also sort by Last Edited, A-Z, Z-A or by Type.

Sorting by Last Edited will show the latest edited node at the top and sorting by A-Z or Z-A will reorder the nodes by alphabetical order within each category. Sorting by Type will group all the same node types together, thus making it easier to see all the DB Adaptors together as an example.
